The Executive Board of the Warren Area Board of Realtors® has completed the restructuring of our accounting system to date and prepared the Budget for 2012 in conjunction with the Finance Committee’s review of the Warren Area Board of Realtors® historical operating results for 2010 and 2011.
This year the Chart-of-Accounts has been restructured to improve oversight by the Board of Directors and enhance efficiency of our stewardship of the Warren Area Board of Realtors® financial performance.
Work is still to be done to improve communications for members related to reporting results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
With the contribution of the Finance Committee we are also developing the corresponding Accounting Policy and Bookkeeping Guidelines for our staff and outside accountant, which will benefit of the Warren Area Board of Realtors® in the long term.
The investments this past year in office hardware and updated accounting software, as well as engagement of professional accounting personnel (CPA) has dramatically improved our leadership’s ability to more efficiently manage the organization’s operations and effectively plan for the future in the coming new year of 2012 and beyond.
I look forward to this year and will continue to work for the betterment of the Warren Area Board of Realtors®.
